About Uncle Pixel
Uncle Pixel was created in 2023, powered by the strong nostalgic feeling for the golden era of computing and the vintage technology of the 80’s and the 90’s.
Computer technology has advanced a lot since then on every aspect, but no modern technology will ever have the charm of the 80’s and 90’s computers. The move from 8086 and 8088 processors to the Pentiums, from the Hercules and CGA graphics cards to VGA and SVGA, from the floppy disks to CD – all these things evoke a feeling of nostalgia and remind us of our childhood and the early days of home computing.
Do you remember the incredible feelings that you got when you launched Monkey Island for the first time? Or when you first saw Larry responding to your text commands? Or when you realized the depth of the first Civilization game?
DOS, the amazing games that were released for it and which established the base which thousands of modern games have emerged from, the legendary companies that created them, the 3.5 and 5.25 inch floppy disks and the more-funny-than-dangerous viruses that were around at that time, are some of the sources of our inspiration for creating all those unique (and often funny) designs printed on excellent quality T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies.
